St Pete Street School; A participant led, physically distanced, street ramble.
Students will exercise their observation skills and engage with the built environment as we wander streets together. We will practice street photography, discuss architecture, learn about street and public art, identify plants, and sketch our experiences. A wireless digital printer will be available for students to print and share their photos. Each student will respond to what we see in their own sketchbook.
Topics include: Stickers as literature, the ethics and legalities of public art, geocaching, architecture, history, folklore, placemarking/making, texture gathering, urban sketching, travel journaling, street photography, guerilla gardening, native plants, community identity, and urban design.
We are supportive and inclusive of each other as we practice physical distancing, mask wearing, and other new habits.
Afterschool classes are available through the Morean Arts Center. Daytime classes for homeschoolers are available for sign up directly with Sara Norine starting in October 2020.
